BNP Paribas Asset Management (‘BNPP AM’) announces today the availability of 11 UCITS ETFs to Swiss investors through the Swiss Stock Exchange (SIX).
Since 1 March 2024, the Swiss legislation on collective investment schemes (CISO) has evolved, enabling ETF providers to divide a fund into ETF and non-ETF share classes, where the ETF share classes can be listed and offered to Swiss investors without having to list or register the non-ETF share classes. Up until now, only qualified investors were able to invest in the full range of BNP Paribas Easy ETFs.
Ariane Dehn, Country head for BNPP AM in Switzerland explains :
“As a provider of sustainable ETF and index solutions, our aim is to grow our market share and provide Swiss investors access to our ETF range. As of now, only a small selection (16 including our Irish domiciled ETFs) of our full ETF range is listed on SIX. This planned wave of listings will complement our product range’s availability on the Swiss market ”.
Claus Hecher, Head of Business Development ETF & Index Solutions for Germany, Austria and German speaking Switzerland adds :
“We are very proud to be able to provide our successful ETF range to our long-standing clients. Eventually, the listing will enable us to interact with new segments of clients and open up new means of distribution”.
The aim is to list more than 50 ETF share classes (excluding new launches) in subsequent batches over the course of Q2/2024. The selection of the first batch of 11 ETFs was made according to client demand with a strong emphasis on corporate and government bonds as well as thematic ETFs.
