Bio

Mr. Okamoto is Deputy Portfolio Manager of BNP Paribas Funds Japan Small Cap at Sumitomo Mitsui DS Asset Management with over 7 years of investment experience. He provides research input and investment ideas on Japanese small-cap equities as well as portfolio management support to the Lead Portfolio Manager of the fund. Prior to his appointment as Deputy Portfolio Manager in 2021, Okamoto served as Research Analyst dedicated to Japan Small Cap fund (2019-2020), and Macro Economist covering Oceania and Asia (2017-2018) at SMAM, a former entity of Sumitomo Mitsui DS Asset Management. Okamoto holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Keio University, Japan. Okamoto is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute.
